Dear parents and carers of children in Stepney Park Primary School.
I hope you have all had a lovely and restful half-term holiday.
Changes ahead...
I'm writing to you with news of a change. After careful thought, I've decided that December 2025 will mark the end of my time as Headteacher of Stepney Park Primary School, as I prepare to embrace new opportunities and a change of pace in my life.
To give the governors ample time to find their next leader, I shared my decision with them yesterday during the governing body meeting.
I recognise that change can bring uncertainty. However, I am confident that the governors, with their thorough understanding of our school and community, and through consultation with staff and pupils, will make the best possible appointment to maintain our school's path to excellence.
I am fully committed to supporting the governors throughout the recruitment process, which will begin shortly. I will also work closely with the new headteacher to ensure a smooth transition. I will keep you informed every step of the way.
Informing us when your child is unable to come to school.
School attendance is a legal requirement, and we must accurately record all absences in a school register. To help us ensure your child's safety and minimise administrative delays, please adhere to the following:
-
Contact the school by phone or in person each morning by 9.00 am if your child is absent, providing the reason.
-
Continue to do this each day by providing a brief daily update on your child's condition, unless we have agreed otherwise.
-
If we do not receive notification, your child’s absence will be marked as unauthorised (N code), and we will need to contact you to establish the reason.
-
If we are unable to reach you for three consecutive days, a home visit will be necessary to ensure your child's well-being.
We appreciate your assistance in helping us manage attendance efficiently.
Kind regards.
