Dear parents and carers of children at Stepney Park Primary School.
1 pm finish tomorrow, Friday Dec 20th
After 15 weeks of school since the start of the Autumn term, the end of the term is finally in sight. All the children and staff have worked tremendously hard and their efforts have really paid off. Well done to everyone! Thank you to all the staff who have helped the children make such good progress.
A very special ‘thank you’ also needs to go to Samia, one of our Year 5 teachers, who is leaving us at the end of the term. Thank you for being such a great teacher and good luck with your new career!
Thank you to parents for helping us celebrate the end of term by attending the Christmas Fair yesterday. We really enjoyed it and hope you did too. I particularly enjoyed listening to the children and staff choirs as well as seeing Santa on the stage! The hot chocolate was a great hit too, we will remember this for next year so that we can do it all again.
Everyone is ready for their Christmas break, which will start at 1 pm tomorrow. School will reopen on Monday, January 6th.
Leaflets of learning
I hope you have read our latest ‘leaflet of learning’ which shows parents what the expected standards are for Maths and Science. Earlier this year we sent parents the English leaflet and in January we will send you the Humanities one; this will cover History, Geography and RE.
We decided to create these leaflets in response to feedback following a parental survey and hope you find them useful. Please email the admin team if you need a leaflet to be re-sent to you.
Is my child too unwell for school?
We've noticed an increase in absence in recent weeks. We know that winter bugs are going around and that sometimes absence from school is unavoidable. I imagine that the decision whether or not your child is too unwell for school can be difficult at times, so I thought I’d reshare the following useful NHS guidance to help you make a decision:

Holiday in term time:
Please remember that holidays and trips abroad need to be booked during school holidays, and are very rarely authorised by school. Please approach us before booking a trip, in order to avoid a fine. Information about holidays in term time and penalty notices can be found here:

Thank you for reading this newsletter and for your continued support. I hope you will have a restful and fantastic holiday, and I am looking forward to working with you in partnership again in 2025!
Kind regards,
