Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park Primary School.
Eid and Easter break
After a wonderful and busy term, we are finally preparing for a well deserved break. We know many of our families will be preparing for Eid soon and wish them a very happy Eid; well done to all children who fasted for the first time.
We will have our own school Eid celebrations after the holiday on Tuesday Mar 19th. Children will have a special Eid meal, they will have a class party in the afternoon and may come to school dressed in their party or Eid clothes on that day. (There is no need to provide food for the party, we will take provide everything).
Please remember that school will close at 1 pm on Thursday 28th March, and will reopen on Monday 15th April.
School will also close at 1 pm on Thursday 18th April for the Parent-Teacher meetings. Please remember to sign up for a slot via the school calendar on the website here.
Parents’ Questionnaire
Thank you to all the parents who submitted feedback forms on the school's communication. We had 198 responses! As you were aware, one lucky family stood to win a £100 voucher. We have done a draw this afternoon. This was done with Year 6 Pine class as the witnesses, to ensure the process was accurate and totally fair! The numbers of all people entered were put into a random generator. The number 28 was revealed - this number was then found on the list.
The lucky family are the parents of Saihan Sobhan in 5 Pine. Congratulations to them!!
We will shortly be collating all those responses for you to read and we will use them to make any refinements to our communication.
Reminder: dropping off forgotten items
From time to time, parents come into the school office during the day to drop off forgotten items such as water bottles and PE kits. Up until recently, it was an admin staff member's task to take this item to the relevant class. In some cases this was a very long trip to the top of North building. Therefore, we recently changed this procedure, and an email to the relevant class during lesson time is sent and a member of staff is asked to collect the item instead.
In order to support admin staff and protect learning time, we kindly ask you to ensure that your child comes to school ready for learning, which means that they have all their resources with them, including their PE kit, water bottle and chromebook. Other than essential items, we ask you to not drop off forgotten items from now on.
We ask for PE kits to be taken to school on Mondays and taken home again on Fridays, so that they can be washed over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.
Great work at Stepney Park
We have recently been involved in a great amount of self-evaluation alongside Martin Tunes, the Tower Hamlets school development advisor. He has spent time in our EYFS setting, in our Forest and Meadow classes and a further 2 mornings across the whole school alongside a group of our Governors. The feedback he has given us has been overwhelmingly positive, and he has commented on some of our practices being the best he has seen recently! We are very proud of our school and wanted to share the good news with you.
Thank you for reading this newsletter and have a lovely holiday. Eid Mubarak!
Kind regards.
