Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park Primary School.
First of all, I would like to wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year and extend a warm welcome back after the Christmas holiday.
This will be a brief letter with a couple of reminders:
Two way system at pick up time:
As previously mentioned, upon parental request we have decided that from Monday January 9th, parents can make their way in and out of the playgrounds at pick up time from the following locations:
-
South Playground:
-
Smithy Street large gate
-
-
North Playground:
-
Playground alleyway
-
Redman’s Road entrance
-
We want to ensure that we can do this safely, so we will do a trial run for a few weeks. Our main worry is potentially unsafe congestion at the north playground alleyway gate, so please try and use another gate if convenient.
We encourage you to make use of all the gates (marked with Red arrows).
Stopping the spread of contagious illness vs good attendance at school.
To prevent the spread of Strep A, flu and Covid, UKHSA advises children and staff to implement good hand and respiratory hygiene practices, such as washing hands frequently and covering the mouth and nose if coughing or sneezing.
In addition, we have been advised to allow your child to stay at home if they have a confirmed fever. This means that you have taken their temperature with a thermometer and if it shows a reading of 38C or above. This is the NHS definition of a high temperature.
Attendance at school is very important for children so that they can make good progress; we would normally expect all children to attend school, unless they are obviously unwell.
Thank you for reading this newsletter and enjoy the weekend.
Kind regards,
Edith Philipsen
